M.E VLSI

Very-large-scale integration(VLSI) is the process of creating integrated circuits by combining thousands of transistors into a single chip. VLSI began in the 1970s when complex semiconductor and communication technologies were being developed. It is an important area in modern technological world that has revolutionized the developments in Space technology, Defense, Communication, Instrumentation, Medical Electronics, Computing, Internet, and Modern automations in various industries. Structured VLSI design is a modular methodology originated by Carver Mead and Lynn Conway for saving microchip area by minimizing the interconnect fabrics area. This is obtained by repetitive arrangement of rectangular macro blocks, which can be interconnected using wiring by abutment. The course primarily demands from its designers, long and dedicated exposure so that they can achieve high accuracy for electronic design automation. There have been various tools developed by the industry for Electronic Design Automation and it has thus been the duty of the academic community to train the students on such advanced technology. We at VKS, offer Post Graduate Program in VLSI with state of the art tools and lab facility.
